With MWC Barcelona cancelled last year, and postponed this year, there is still some uncertainty to the capacity in which it will be held, and how many exhibitors and attendees will be there.
Deveo has been attending MWC since 2006. We recently we ran a small LinkedIn poll to gather insights into how industry peers are feeling towards attending. (See below the snapshot of these results):
The results clearly show that the over-riding feeling at this stage is wariness towards the event: with 3 out of 4 people very unlikely to attend. We can assume that the COVID pandemic is the n°1 obstacle to a normal event.
GSMA has confirmed MWC Barcelona will be taking place. However, they have reduced their expectations from 50,000 to 30,000 attendees, but it’s still very unclear at this stage how many people will actually attend.
